Axis 209FD-R Network Camera, Fixed Dome

This camera has been discontinued and replaced by the Axis M3113-VE.

The Axis 209FD-R is a fixed dome network camera built for tough environments such as buses, trains and other forms of mass transit. Compact and discreet, the camera features flat design with durable construction. It offers superior image quality using progressive scan, and streams digital video in simultaneous Motion JPEG and MPEG-4, allowing for remote video monitoring over the Internet. The 209FD-R can serve as a deterrent to crime, while providing valuable visual evidence when incidents require investigation.

Robust Construction for Demanding Environments

The highlight of the Axis 209FD-R is its durability. The camera features a tough transparent cover and rugged casing which guard against humidity, dust and the vibrations that occur on mass transit vehicles. A small built-in heater eliminates condensation and protects the camera and lens from moisture.

Tampering Alarm

Security cameras on buses, subways and trains can be susceptible to tampering. To eliminate this threat, the Axis 209FD-R is equipped with an intelligent tampering alarm. The alarm is able to detect if the camera is moved, covered, sprayed or obscured in any way.

Power over Ethernet

Using Power over Ethernet (PoE), the Axis 209FD-R receives power and transmits video signals over a single Ethernet cable. This reduces installation costs and eliminates the need for extensive wiring.
