The Axis P7701 Video Decoder is a simple, easy-to-use monitoring solution that enables analog or digital monitors/projectors to connect to and display live video from Axis IP cameras and video encoders. The P7701 provides an ideal set up for situations where only live video display is required such as with a public view monitor at a store entrance, and the video decoder is a more cost-effective solution than using a PC for connecting to a monitor. As an added benefit the Axis P7701 can enhance the performance of video management systems by helping to offload the main server from decoding digital streams simply for display purposes.
The Axis P7701 decodes full frame rate video streams in H.264 and MPEG-4 in all resolutions up to D1 (720 x 480 pixels in NTSC, 720 x 576 in PAL). Motion JPEG can also be decoded in all resolutions up to 720p (1280 x 720). The P7701 video decoder provides either digital or analog video output and video from any number of cameras can be shown in sequence.
The video decoder also works with alarm triggers from either an IP camera or video encoder. The Axis P7701 can be configured to automatically display alarm-triggered video and can also decode mono audio. The P7701 is powered either using Power over Ethernet (PoE) or through an external power supply.
