- Easy To Install
Comments about Optica B204 1080P HD Outdoor Bullet Network Camera, PoE, WDR, Day/Night, H.264:
This is a great high-quality HD IP video camera. After trying s couple of H.264 Foscam cameras I can definitely say that this Optica camera is much higher quality and easier to install and use. At 1920x1080, the image quality is outstanding, and unlike the Foscam, this camera has the processing power to stream at the advertised frame rates. Built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a great feature, and makes for an easy single-cable install. The mounting bracket is solid.
I was hoping that I could use the built-in motion detection to upload videos via FTP, but it turns out that the motion detection is fairly simplistic (percentage of pixels changed over entire region of interest) compared to what can be done with software such as Blue Iris. So for now I am using this camera with Blue Iris to handle motion detection and recording, and am also able to view the camera on my Android phone using IP Cam Viewer Pro.
If I were to do it again, I would purchase the B204M camera with the electronic zoom/focus feature.
