Video Servers & Video EncodersOur selection of Video Servers and Video Encoders includes devices from top manufacturers such as Axis, ACTi and Vivotek. Available in 1 channel up to 16 channels, these video servers and video encoders make it easy to record and manage IP video.
Video encoders, also called video servers, are dedicated devices that convert analog video to digital video streams. With a video encoder, you can integrate CCTV cameras into a network video surveillance system, enabling you to leverage your investment in analog technology while migrating toward IP video. This technology opens up a world of options features, such as motion/audio detection, alarm input/output, PTZ controls and more. With video encoders, you can configure image quality, frame rate and compression format for each video stream, enabling you to optimize performance to your needs. Video encoders are available in three forms: rack mount, blade and standard. In general, rack mounts and blades are designed for large scale or growing installations. We offer models supporting up to 16 analog cameras, and we recommend selecting an encoder with more channels than you currently need if you plan to add more cameras in the future.
